Focus Based, Balanced Dog Training
We strive to provide a balanced, and engaging training methodology to build a relationship of trust and respect between you and your dog. We have several options for dogs of any age, breed and background. Josie has had over 15 years of experience, in several venues. She is an AKC certified trainer and evaluator for all Canine Good Citizen titles, trick dog, farm dog, as well as the AKC Therapy Dog program. She is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, an organization that promotes trust and stress free training methods. We also specialize in IGP/ Schutzhund, advanced obedience, tracking, and protection. Josie is the President and training director for Northwest Indiana Working Dogs, a full member USCA club. Services
We offer board & train, group training, private lessons, and day training, to provide several options! We are an AKC evaluator for several programs as well.
One On One, Private Lessons
Private training sessions are a great way to learn with your dog! We offer puppy lessons, basic obedience, advanced obedience, off leash training, tracking, sport dog training, and protection programs. Dogs must have an obedience foundation, and be temperament tested before any protection or bite work lessons.
Basic Obedience Programs
Whether you just got a new puppy, or have an unruly adult...we can help you create the foundation for a better relationship with your dog, through training. Basic obedience is the beginning of a happy home with your pet. Pets who go through training, and owners continue training and behavior upkeep at home, are much less likely to ever be surrendered to a shelter because of behavioral issues later on.
Day Training
We train, while you work! This is a fantastic way to keep your pet occupied and learning while you are away for the day! We will put in several sessions throughout the day. We will work on confidence building, basics, engagement, and even being a better pup out in public! Pick up/drop off can be available!
Board & Train Programs
Board & train is a fantastic way to get your dog on the right track fast! Everyone has a very busy life, between work, caring for children, school, sports, etc. a lot of families struggle with having the time to put a solid, structured foundation on their dog. Not only does a board & train give your dog the best opportunity to focus, and learn, but we will also build confidence and teach them to work with their handler, and be indifferent to other dogs, animals, or people you may encounter on walks, and in public. We want to help you and your dog enjoy this life together! The basic program includes: ⭐️7 commands⭐️1 marker word⭐️1 release word⭐️2 free lessons, as well as unlimited support! We of course will also address any specific concerns or issues you may be having with your dog at home!
We offer an off leash training program as well, a high quality training collar will be included, along with lessons to properly use the collar.
Group Training
Group classes are a great way to help your dog learn to focus on his handler with various distractions. They are also a tremendous help for owners learning to keep the dog engaged and focused, on them instead of things going on around them! Group classes are fun, and interactive, and a great way to build confidence.
